Patient Advisory Group

Patient advisory groups usually act across a specific geographic area and help healthcare organisations meet their legal responsibility to involve people in the development of new and reconfiguration of existing health services.

Members include patients and members of the public, as well as carers, staff, representatives from the relevant Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and HealthWatch.

Together, the group provides advice on issues of significance involving the use of patient information (data). It plays an important part in making sure people are involved in healthcare decision-making.
