Patient Reference Group

Patient Reference Groups (PRG) are established for specific projects and help to make sure the patient and public voice is heard and taken into account in any redesign, or introduction of services.

Remit of the group and frequency of meetings will vary depending on the particular project, according to its programme of work and input required.

Members are usually a ‘critical friend’, supporting the CCG to develop and/or review options for service change. They ensure criteria are met and provide governance support from the service users’ perspective.
