Stroke survivors and their carers contributed to a lively discussion led by the communications and engagement team at the national Stroke Assembly on Wednesday, 10 June. An hour long workshop on ‘Getting the patient voice heard’ was led by Pam Schreier and Sarah Makin at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
Congratulations to our communication and engagement colleagues at two Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) who have helped the CCGs to scoop a Best of Staffordshire Award for their innovative approach to patient involvement.
Colleagues from Midlands and Lancashire CSU (MLCSU) showcased the range of services we offer at the two day Commissioning show held in London recently. The team were joined at their stand by our Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) partners who talked about some of the ground-breaking transformational initiatives taking place across the country.
Forward Thinking Birmingham (FTB), the new provider of a revolutionary new model of mental health care for children and young people, hosted a showcase event on 7th July which was attended by over 300 people.
The event gave patients, carers, the public, clinicians, the voluntary sector and wider stakeholders the opportunity to find out more about FTB and how it will change mental health services for children and young people aged 0-25 years, who live in Birmingham.
NHS England are piloting free online training courses for patients, carers or lay representatives involved in health or social care.
